A Brief Introduction to Kyrenia
Life in Kyrenia is based around its elegant Venetian harbour, a graceful curve
of impressive wall that starts at the castle and sweeps round, holding fishing
boats and yachts in its safe waters. The harbour side is lined with cafes and
restaurants housed in converted carob warehouses, and makes an ideal spot for
a light lunch or Turkish coffee during the day. At night the harbour comes alive
with twinkling lights and the sound of laughter, as the Turkish Cypriots come
to meet, eat and enjoy the many bars that lie just behind the harbour area.
